Correct , main earth to abs unit. The root cause of all my recent canbus faults .

Yes, I'm guessing they have , before I bought the car , possibly a headlight replacement??

Nice to se the old fashioned method still can have value.

On saying that it all looks nice and clean, so easy to work on and in. More gunge = more difficult. You enforce my view that a few hours of elbow grease and even skinned knuckles (on my older mo mo's) is worth the effort.

It was on star last weekend £42 . It flagged up the passenger headlight wasnt coded in. We thought that was the issue as circuit 54 was logged which is the lighting circuit. The merc specialist scanned it today and put it down to water and sent me off to an auto electrician. He was closed today so when I got home I had a pick poke about and spotted that earth strap . I removed it fully and started the car , the faults I've been getting immediately flagged up on the dash ... 1 new battery and a star session later . Hopefully I've fixed it myself...

"It needs an update."
"Needs a new headlight, it's beyond economic repair."
"We can try a regen, if that doesn't work it'll be expensive I'm afraid."

I've been arguing this morning with my Daughter. She sees me as a dinosaur because I'm trying to reduce my future dependency on IT.
I've left a forum due the the introduction of needing to jump through hoops once a month to access a motoring site.
I'll be leaving the local sailing club as "I need to use what's app or Facebook" to do anything with the club.
But I look forward to using the 'Spoons ordering app again, so much nicer than standing at a bar trying to get attention.

I guess there is a sort of balance some where.

Anyway well done. But in the old days a mechy would have been more willing to delve in instead of trusting the pc readout.

Better than star and xentry on this occasion. It would of been nice if this so called specialist had bothered himself to even have a look .

Requires specialist software. Brain ,eyes. Often not the first choice today,or simply unavailable !.maybe if we put a plug on them !
