Mine does about the same on a good run e320cdi Avantgarde Estate
Did you manage to avoid traffic on the Bournemouth Spur Road, it can be a nightmare sometimes at Week-ends.

We leave early, arrive before the traffic builds, park up and leave the car where it is all day.

Usually leave late so miss 90% of the traffic on the way back.

Wife's steering the Merc home on Saturday  so for once I can have a beer on the beach.

Sounds good to me, we always take our Kids to Branksome Chine on weekends about 5.00 pm as by then it is a little cooler for them and most people have either gone home or back to have dinner at their Hotels so plenty of room on the Beach for our Kids to play.:):):D
Hope you have a nice time in Bournemouth, its only about 7 miles from where we live. Fantastic part of the UK.
Best Wishes to you all

Just did a days run to our country block in the B Class, 316km round trip on mainly B and C roads with about 20km of dirt road, cruising on the speed limit for a fuel consumption of 5.3l/100km or 53mpg.

The Tiguan on the same trip gets around 5.6l/100km or 50mpg.

Hehe. Despite my best efforts today on a clear motorway trip to Heathrow and back, I still cannot crack 24mpg.
Maybe if I drove like Miss Daisy I could do it, but where is the fun in that?

Must agree, its insanely boring to try. Although one day I managed 36 in my E55, I REALLY didnt want to stop for fuel.

West Pembrokeshire to mid Hampshire.

Speedtronic set to 65, actual GPS speed 61mph.

Reserve fuel warning given ~40 miles out from destination.

56 mpg though ... Might improve once the engine is run in

That pretty good!

I picked up a new to me W210 E220 cdi, 156K on the clock.

Managed 56.6 mpg on the way back from reading, without too much trouble. Love these cdi's

The pain numbs after a while...

Think of all the new friends you'll make at your local service station ;)

My 55k is averaging 20.2mpg over the 16k miles I've driven it :)

Join the Shell Driver's club and earn yourself some points (double on V-Power!), it adds up to a nice little discount every couple of months

Have only had the car 6 days but have been pleasantly surprised with the fuel usage. The start stop has changed my driving style as I find myself leaving more space in front and rolling into junctions so the engine doesn't stop!
Yesterday on a run we had 68.9 and average on the car now 57.7mpg.

My E320 sport is averaging around 30-34mpg just now, mainly town driving and commuting to work. Got it up to 42mpg on a long run to Bristol and back :)
