Not bad for a 3.2l V6, the ability of this engine continues to amaze me!

What are the figures if you do a tank to tank test.

Divide the litres you put in at refill by 4.56 to give you the volume in gallons; and then divide the number of miles achieved since the previous fill-up by the number of gallons put in...;)

Not sure I just fill it up when empty and drive. I believe my figures are good because my regular route to work is a mix of 30,40 and 50 mph areas for about 15 miles and dual carriageway for about 9 miles. I always stick to the speed limits mostly and usually cruise at about 65mph on the dual carriageway. I only accelerate hard occasionally to avoid getting blocked in.

Next time you fill up, reset the trip counter and then you can verify the reading.

That last one was from the 5th gear shoot so lots of idling around, not really driving per se :)

You must be heavy footed? I get those figures from my CLK320 petrol!

A friend picked a motorsport part up from York for me once, he used our 53 plate 203 C200 CDI Auto, which has over 300,000 miles on the clock.

Warrington to York and back, he sat with cruise on at 57mph and the obd showed 69.7mpg for that journey.

It regularly does 50mpg on our 23 mile commute to the garage.

Its affectionately known as the silver shadow and just keeps going and going. She currently has approx. 320,000 on the clocks.

Best ive seen from the B class is 62.5mpg on a run back from Derby.
Average is 43/44 mpg around town/short runs.

Dont even ask about the AMG's!!!!!

Why, you worried about it?
Sounds about right really, just make sure you are hitting 90ºc on the temp gauge, any lower and the car is over fuelling.

My e320cdi estate, 2006, used to see 26 round town, 34 average which then ended up at 36 average when I went from 25k miles to 40k miles, and 40 on a run.
Sat at 50mph it would see high 40s.

It was about 2-4mpg better than the E320 V6 petrol I had before.
On really cold morning the 10 mile trek into Norwich would see the petrol better than diesel.
