Changing wheels on the SLK is a pain because it's difficult to get the wheel aligned correctly on the hub with there being no studs. Can you get dummy studs to screw in to locate the wheel?

Should be one in your tool kit. Knurled top, screw bottom. You screw it in to the hub, and locate the wheel over it.

I've seen that in the tool kit, but never realised what it was for. My wheels sit quite nicely on the hub so never even thought about it when changing them. I can go home now I've learn't something :D

No your post meant alot, I sat there looking at this thing, and though, well its made to screw in somewhere. You would be surprised how much I learn here, to me its keeping my brain alive, now that I am winding down my own business, it was only after an old lady friend said to me "are you going to work forever" that I gave ther situation some thought. Maybe I will go to evening classes to learn about diesels.

Cheers, Malcolm

I only found mine on the day I sold the car, it was under the spare wheel that had never been used, and I did leave it in the car tool roll, maybe yours is there.
