Wheel refurb

The 17" Alloy wheels on my E240 require attention, they donot have the polished edges. They need re-profiling on a lathe, stripping, painting and re-lacqering. Heard mixed reviews on Spit and Polish / Wicked Wheels - where do you guys get your wheels re-furbed?

Pristine wheels in Northampton refinnish wheels for most Merc and BMW dealers in the UK. They picked mine up on a Monday and they were back on the Thursday better than new. I have sent 10 sets up from friends since and the same super service and work. Malcolm

Information for members, I have found a company that specialises in wheel re-furbishing that are very experienced and don't charge a fortune.

For £49.00 per wheel they will stip, paint, diamond cut, fit and balance my new tyres and collect and deliver. I will post pictures when they are finished. Here's their web site.................

Only once

Some wheels Fitted to SL's and a few other cars can only be diamond turned once, the reason is that the edge of rim becomes to thin. I have put up photo's under R129 just open the thumbnail. So take care on who does them.

For the winter I bought a brand new set complete with tyres for use in the winter from SL55 on Ebay £400. these wheels use 14mm bolts so you have to buy 12mm bolts with 14mm taper, 14mm x 28 bolts and re thread to 12mm.
