Wheels for 1995 124 (sportline) E-class estate - Suitable wh

Can anyone advise me of which different wheel / tyre combinations can be fitted to the above vehicle (which has the sportline suspension) without any modification, and if poss. which would give the best balance of handling / ride comfort?
Also does anyone know of a reliable source of second hand Merc. / AMG alloys?

Wheels for 1995 124 (sportline) E-class estate

have posted on this before, i have had lots of combi's on my E300 sportline and the best i have come up with
is: 225-45-17 on the front and 245-40-17 on the back
i have tried 18's but they dont quite fit (even with 35 prof tyres)
just by coincidence this is the same size combination as the BMW M3 so the tyres are not too pricey
i have just re-shod with Avon ZZ3 and they are every bit as good as the write ups say they are.
