Powder coating every time. Painting alloy wheels is a waste of time, they last no time at all. Budget about £50/60 per wheel for powder coating :)

There's even some places that do a complete service , have the car and remove , powder coat and refit balance etc.

Around £300 .

Powder coat them, by far and away the hardest coating

My friend does them for £365 a set in any colour you want

Another question now :-D Which color would you pick? My car is silver :-D I know it is an owner preference but I would like to get your opinion. I was thinking about black but I have seen a silver car with black color wheels and I did not like to look.

Would you put a clear coat on a finish powder coat?

Black Chrome. Will look great with silver, dark, but classy.

The wheels will be finished - ready to go, you won’t need to clear coat yourself

That sounds a little strong, had mine done for £60 per wheel out here in Suffolk. A powder coater I would recommend to anyone assuming they lived in the area :)

Think should be around £240-300 depending on the colour you choose and the size if the rims.

-powder coat is much more hard wearing than paint. If you are investing in new tyres too/or in future check out to see which tyres give you a bit of rim protection, or maybe think about rim protection like alloy-gators etc if you tend to scuff kerbs. You can order them in a range of colours- silver/black/ red etc etc.

No paint nor powder coat will be I in undamaged if you kerb, and you should clear lacquer the area after to avoid corrosion.

Silver would be my choice. Don't like black wheels at all, always look dirty, but that is me  They should come back from the Powder Coaters all sealed and ready to go :)

Black, definitely no! A nice simple gloss silver. Always
looks good. :)

Powder coat if you can stretch the budget, but the way I see it... Painted rims will last just as long and if you kerb them it doesnt matter if they were golf plated they will look scruffy anyway. I know nobody intends on kerbing wheels but it does happen!

It never happen to me to kerb the wheel yet :-D I am very careful - well I am trying to be o_O I think I will go for powder coating. Diamond cut looks lovely but in Ireland I don't any place that will be able to refresh my wheels. I would love to keep them stock but it is impossible as in Ireland we do not have much specialists here. I will go for powder coating - as you said it guys, it doesn't matter if it will powder or wet paint, once you will meet a kerb that's it - job done.

Yep, but until you hit the kerb, powder coating's better. :) And you'll find not much dearer.
