Personally, just powder coat, diamond cut can be a pain ,you only need a tiny chip in the coat and water gets underneath the lacquer and looks awful .

Powder coat if you can stretch the budget, but the way I see it... Painted rims will last just as long

Paint will never last as long as powdercoat on wheels, I know as my wheels were painted and need doing again

I also have another question :-D I will have to do a service on my car, it has a full MB history but now I am thinking to do the service myself. I do the service every 12 000km so one change was mine and one at the dealer. They are charging me around 180EUR to do the oil change etc. What would you do? The only advantage is mobilo and rust warranty however I've heard that it is tricky to get anything from them. My previous 2 cars I was servicing myself up to the highest possible standard and never had any issues. Do you think it is worth doing a service at the dealer on 2011 car?

2011 cars dont go for much these days (maybe a 2011 SL does) but not average cars. FMBSH is nice but people will always see it as a 2011 and want to pay you nothing for it regarldess of how panoramic the roof is (ask me how I know )

SO in short. Maintaining FMBSH seems like wasted money. DO what Land rover did and go INDI drop the AN or find a good local garage to do it. ITs just a stamp on paper to most people (keep receipts is main thing Id say

Hey guys. They charged 159EUR for the A service. They wanted 60EUR to adjust the front bearibgs i told them i will do it myself. Next oil change I am doing myself after 12 000km and then I will see if I will go to the dealer again.

My Wheels are Split Rims, I believe 3 way splits, most places I’ve asked, won’t touch them unless I sell the car to pay for them. The outer rims are diamond cut, but the lacquer is coming off, I’m going to try to remove the lacquer and repolish them myself without splitting them...the photo shows a wheel before the lacquer started pealing...

Not in Ireland hahah - they want you to bring the wheels to the garage without tyres :-D
