When can I find a maintence schedulr for a 99 ML320. Oil etc

Just bought a 99 ML320. The seller says to change the oil every 10,000 miles.
I always went 5,000. Even with sinthetic. The info that came with the car keeps telling me to see the Mercedes Dealer. But I do my own maintenance, Any tips on how to find a maintenance shhedule andtips on oil changing appreciated. (I was told a layman cant change the oil in one of these).

The car should go at least 10,000 miles on synthetic oil.
It should have a counter which is accessed via the steering wheel controls, assuming it has a multi-function wheel, or via the dashboard buttons if not.

You can change the oil yourself and you can reset the counter.

Have you looked in the owners manual regarding the service counter?

Frankly no. I just looked for a maintenance schedule. Never seen a manual without a maintenance schedule before this Mercedes. Hopefully it will tell me how to reset the counter.
My Oldsmobile I turn on the key and hit the gas pedel 3 times.
My Acura I stick my key in a slot.

When I saw 8 1/2 quarts of oil per change, I thought it was a typo.
