And those wonderful rear handbrake pads as well Malcolm, better off chocking the rear wheels with them rather than fitting them !!
You are right David, I had forgotten that bit, the parking brake used the same pads, and they had a slot where when you applied the parking brake a lever went into the slot to hold the pads onto the disc.
Thinking back on this there were some awful system back then, the first mini coopers did not have a servo.
On the same note, garages back then knew nothing about disc brakes. I was reading my local paper and there was a 1 year old Jaguar MK10 for £300 as there were no brakes, I shot round there quick and bought it for £250 cash, I ran that car for 2 years and sold it for £2k, it only needed new pads, as the pedal sank to the floor.
