Where do ML's come from?

I understand that ML's are made either in Austria or USA.  I have read that the 270CDi is manufactured ONLY in Austria as Americans don't buy Diesele (fuel surcharge/petrol cheap(er) etc.)  Is this true?

it used to be true, but, as the austrian plant got busier many diesels production were swapped to alabama

a trick for anyone who wants an austrian ML . Order an ML270 CDI and fit on the nokia GSM telephone . It has to be made in austria if this option is selected on the ML270
