Hello, is there anyone here that can help me? I have a 98 CLK 230 (LHD), recently the battery started to play up as I dont use the vehicle very often and this resulted in me having to jump start it. Since I jump started it off of my van the CLK will not rev above 1500 rpm. It will start and idle fine but as soon as I apply the accelorator it splutters and struggles to stay running. I have spoke to a mechanic friend of mine and he says that I may have put a spike through the ECU when I jumped it. He says that if I remove the ECU I can have it tested, the only problem with this is that I dont know where it is. Any help with this would be greatly apreciated. HAs anything like this happened to anyone else and ifso how did they fix it? Thank you very much to anyone that has taken the time to read this. Cheers Justin.
