No one is suggesting it should be used, quite to opposite! The pre-fuse box should be used

And how is the OP going to get a wire of the size needed to the rear of the car, if the rear box is fed from a front pre, then that would be much easier

F90 and 91 are spare in the rear pre box and probably just fine for the max load that will be ever used

There is a rear pre-fuse box as well, next to the battery

A big one
Just to interject here, the auxiliary battery in the front was deleted from 211/219 at the June 2006 facelift. You only have the one.

When looking at WIS, watch for the "up to 31.05.06" and "from 1.06.06" notes in the subjects.

SN00.00-P-1047J
Overview of innovations/changes 06/2006
54.10 Model 211/219 As of code 807 Model year 2007
Discontinuation of two-battery on-board electrical system

As of the model year, the two-battery on-board electrical system (i.e. the additional battery in the engine compartment (right front), the battery control unit the additional battery relay) is to be discontinued.

The battery sensor is new, this is located at the negative terminal of the battery. The voltage, current and temperature of the battery is measured and evaluated, from this the condition of the battery can be derived. This information is processed by the rear SAM control unit.

The quiescent current is likewise monitored via the battery sensor. At a current value >75 mA, the information is stored in the rear SAM control unit and can be read out using the STAR Diagnosis (access via "on-board electrical system"). Information on consumer shutoffs is no longer displayed on the instrument cluster. In the case of battery discharge caused by switched-on consumers, this information can be read out via STAR Diagnosis.

A top class interjection it was too!

Still, I guess I should consider tapping into F90 or F91 in the rear pre-fuse box....

You could use both, though they will handle 30 amp on their own, being practical you will never use that much I think.
