Simon, it is very sad for you as you had a dream within your grasp. However, seriously, the cars that look the best (usually coupes) are not the most practical for transporting kids. I used to hate the stretching and clambering all over the seatbelts etc..
For the time being, I would buy a saloon with smaller but seperate doors and look forward to the day when you can enjoy a coupe again. All the best.

There may be some down south, but I try to avoid that place as much as possible. Though you are likely to get a better price in London than Manchester. Unfortunate I don't have room at the moment or I would have taken it off your hands. Some of these places offer reasonable prices for storage so you could hide it from her indoors and get a cheap runabout for the four of you.
