I have a mercedes clk 240, W209

I need to replace the battery.
According to Mercedes I should be installing a 57-64 ah battery, however when I lifted the bonnet, I noted that I currently have a 100ah mercedes battery.

I am now confused as to what battery I should purchase. Thoughts appreciated.

People often fit uprated batteries, which it seems the previous owner of your car has done. You can fit another 100ah if you wish or the standard spec battery. Enter your reg at euro car parts and it will give you various options, plus you can use the 25% off forum discount.

A 70 amp should be just fine, thats all there is on my 420CL

A fully charged smaller battery is better that a not fully charged bigger one

Thanks for the thoughts...

Just for my understanding, is there an added advantage in having a 100 ah over a 70 ah battery?

Cheers

Only if the car has excess electronics in it and the alternator can support it, 70 to 80 amp is more than enough for most cars
