Which engine oil?? c200 cdi

Hi guys, what engine oil should i use in my 2005 c200 cdi?? gonna be changing soon and would like to use correct stuff,wil it be ok on 10/40 castrol gtx or should it be fully synthetic?? cheers for the help.

Then find the MB spec 229.?? and shop around for oils that meet that spcification. seemingly Costco do cheap oil though i have never used them. Opie Oils do discounts for MB clubs s worth a look also.

Have a look in your manual. It should specifiy a standard such as 229.1, 229.3 or 229.5. If you've got a DPF you'll need something like 229.31 or 229.51. Castrol GTX is only 229.1 and is the cheapest grade suitable. You'll be able to have a longer service interval if you use a superior grade oil. (Make sure you set ASSYST correctly)

Check out many of the oil company websites, you can pump in your reg no and they will give you the correct grade of oil to use..
