Hi
I'm a newby to Mercs and am shopping at present. Can someone explain the difference between Classic, Avantgarde and Elegance please? I'm looking at getting a C200Kompressor estate & am guessing I need the Elegance SE. Any advice?
Also not sure how to tell the difference between the facelift and pre-facelift models.
Any help would be appreciated.

Classic is the base level of trim and options

Elegance builds on the Classic adding more options and more sumptuous trim

Avantgarde has similar options as Elegance but with a more sporty theme, with lowered, stiffened suspension.

Of course within each of these there are numerous variations but basically the Classic and Elegance share the same suspension / chassis aimed at comfortable and Avantgarde the more firm suspension for handling.

Just to try as many different models as possible and see what suits best.

Test driving is essential, the difference between Elegance and Avantgarde on the C-class is huge. I find the Elegance suspension horribly wallowy and would never dream of buying one. But your taste may be different.
