Which model does this grill fit?

I bought a new "aftermarket" grill a few months ago which was supposed to fit my W208 CLK, but it doesn't and I have no idea which model it is supposed to fit! Including the chrome surround, the overall width at the top is 730mm tapering down to 620mm at the bottom, and the height at the tallest point in the centre is 205mm. It has a nice big three pointed star in the middle. I paid £161 for it and would have been more than happy if it fitted, but all I want to do now is sell it at whatever cost to someone that can make use of it. Anyone have any idea which model it fits?

At first glance it looks correct for the W208 (other than the large star in the middle which is why I bought it) but I'll have to get it out of the box when I get home tonight to take a picture and see if I can post it here! From memory it's wider but not as tall as the W208.

BTW Measurements above include the chrome surround.

You'll see from the picture that I actually have the bonnet badge as well so you can have that in place of the star as they seem to think having the star on the bonnet and in the grill is too much. I like my "gunsight" so wouldn't swop it anyway! The badge is genuine M-B but the grill is an aftermarket ABS unit although seems good quality and would look great on the right car! I was right earlier, this grill is wider and slimmer than the W208 grill.

So, anyone have any ideas what car it fits?

Is there a part number on it?

Just noticed in the box is a label which I think must be from the three pointed star which states HGBW20301CA C203 GRILLE (A) LOGO, so it could be that the grille is to fit C203 although it could just be that the star itself is the same. Maybe if someone has a C203 they could measure the grille and see if it's the same?

Helen - no name or part number on the grille itself, all I know is it is an aftermarket non-genuine part but I would think it must be made by a company specialising in M-B parts.

That looks very much like it. Bit of a cheek I know, but any chance you could measure your one and see if it's the same?

Thanks for checking anyway Chas, much appreciated.

So, does anyone have a C203 to check dimensions?

Yes it does keep me off the streets, which kind of makes collecting grilles a bit pointless as no one sees my car on the streets :D.
Never mind, salmon fishing starts soon and the gun dogs can smell a whiff of grouse ;)

I like that one on ebay. Do you think it would be very difficult to modify one's own W220 grille to look like that? Would the standard boot star look right if it was grafted into the grille?
