Hi again, Lost Kiwi
Will that be 5W30 or 10W40
Do I get fully synthetic or semi.

Remember last Christmas I had issues with my car too? Now I need rear tyres and oil. The noise that was coming from the car, was broken suspension arm, something like that. I taken it to my regular garage and they diagnosed it straight away. They are really the best.

Thanks

It is not that important as long as it meets the MB spec. but there are no 10w 40 listed.

If you are going to pay a garage to change the oil, then go for the Fully Synthetic because it will last longer.
If you do it yourself, then Semi will be OK.

229.5. I have only ever used/seen fully syn in mercs for as long as I can remeber.

oil threads have been covered to death tbf, go by the list provided by LK and you wont go wrong. If thats too much pop into a dealers and ask what they use but AFAIK its a Shell Helix.

Me I have always stuck to mobil 1 0W-40.

Good luck and let us know how you get on

If you do it yourself then just keep an eye out for good deals on Euro car parts/GSF/Amazon etc.

Also try looking at MB of Newcastle eBay sales.
They do great pricing on genuine MB badged oil of the right spec.

Can I ask for tyres does it matter if it is 91Y or 95

Mine is currently 245/40/17 95
They have 245/40/17 91

Does it make a difference

It's a load rating so is important not to go under the manufacturer approved one. Go above and you might just have a harsher ride.
245/40 R17 is a German specific size I believe so there is slightly less choice available.

I'd be inclined to stick with what's on there. I certainly wouldn't want 91 on the rear and something higher on the rear. Had that once and it was horrible to drive due to more sidewall flex on the rears.

Hi Lost Kiwi
I ordered the oil and I booked in with national tyres and auto care.
I am getting 245 40 17 95
I got a good price, the online price is £225, I searched a discount code 5pc so the total is £114.
I had to speak to the branch direct to ask about the load rating. He said the price is £300!!! But when I told him it is £225 online and with 5pc discount, it is £214.

He said that is correct, if I book online. However, as I suffer with extreme OCD and anxiety, he booking me in for £214. I taken screenshot of the online payment and he is booking me in tomorrow.

All their branches had only 4 star ratings on google, but the one I chosen has 4.7 star rating.

Wish me luck, as things often goes wrong for me. I am going to take pictures of the rear wheels and tyres before I take it to them.

Thanks
