Which oil to use in C220 CDi

Actually 20w/50 is recomended for use so I don't see why not. After all if its good enough for MB it should be good enough for me. I would however concede that this is a bit marginal for winter use as it is only recomended down to -5c

In 1988 I think it was when we had a proper cold winter when anti freeze was freezing. I had Castrol gtx 20/40 in my Ford Cortina left it out all the time and never had a problem.

(Antifreeze at 50% freezes at -37c)
Other than that I don't realy have any more to add.

could I put MOBIL SHC LD 0W-30 in my c220 cdi (2002 51) it meets vw requirements but cant find anything out about MB

Mobil 1 0w40 is what i use in mine.
