Which rear silencer 1995 S124 E300D

I need to replace the rear exhaust box on my 1995 E300 s124 estate. I am trying to avoid spending hundreds, either through MB or even ECP. However, the various suppliers of aftermarket parts in the uk and Europe are showing the actual part out of stock. Can anyone tell me if the rear silencer/muffler box for this vehicle is unique or will one for another S124 of the same era fit, either out of the box or with modest adaptation? A 250D for example.

I presume the 250d and 300d will be the same size bore, cannot see a manufacturer either aftermarket or Mercedes going to the trouble of making different sizes for such a small engine capacity increase.

Thanks. You would think so, I agree. However, this and other similar listings never show my car, and when I check they say they are not compatible, but I can’t be sure if this the case or not.

If you dont want to go down a genuine route any decent exhaust place will make one up for you or have alternatives.

BUT

In my opinion merc exhausts are phenomenally good. Any cheap exhaust may will give you noises you are just not
happy with .
