Right, back to the tyres! Whilst those Chinese tyres might be ok in a complete set (and I use the word “ok” with caution), on the rears they are quite likely to fight against your front Conti’s which are a more modern tread design. I’d be looking to ditch those before they ditch you , fairly certain that will be either your mystery noise too.....or at the least give you an interesting handling characteristic come winter.

Cheng-sheng-slimes have no place on a Mercedes. Shows a worrying lack of maintenance care (to me) by previous owner.

I totally agree I would never put tyres like that on a Mercedes or any “performance/luxury” vehicle.

I put my foot down yesterday, not hard just to over take a 40mph driver in a 60 zone... yes the back end slipped out.. nippy bum moment!

Out of curiosity mind... how much do you think a roof set of roof and boot seals would cost to buy and get fitted LOL or do I not want the answer

And should these seals fit flush?

Maybe I should try myself, what about gaskets?
Plenty on YouTube , or Haynes manual . Two big threaded plugs , one for fill , one for empty . Refill until it runs out of the fill plug .
Not for me to say if you should start DIY'ing , I don't know your background :D

Should just be a copper washer on the diff drain plug so its reusable:). It is on mine anyway, took me an hour to do from drain to refill! 20 quid ish for the oil. Possibly Mercedes recommend to replace the plug but I didn't bother myself!
