Hi, just joined, i purchased my C250 cgi (petrol) in July, love the car, but in this cold weather i've noticed lots of white smoke on startup, not using oil or coolant, though just had the thermostat changed as it had a slight leak, no smell to the smoke, so i assume water vapour, but it seems more than it should be, and carries on for 15-20 minutes until the car reaches normal temp, any ideas? it had a full service in July, I'm not using the car more than once or twice a week though. But this level of vapour seems abnormal

It should get to temp faster than that ~8-10 mins, it will produce comfy out the exhaust whilst it is warming up.

Thanks, i've just started the car and it gets to normal running temp in about 10 minutes, but the smoke fills the rear screen whilst driving until it gets warm.

The good thing is you say there is no smell to it and your vehicle is not using fluids.

Usually white smoke/steam used to indicated condensation in the exhaust, coolant leak/head gasket or, Pcv. I’m not sure what else on a modern car would contribute to it.

Depending of where the condensation/small amounts of water are in the exhaust it could just take longer to shift it.

if you sit in any traffic in this weather atm there is a-lot of white smoke being chucked in the air.
I would like to say it is normal.
