Actually two reasons,1)They're very expensive & 2)The place is full of idiot drivers.

Thai drivers aren't the worst I've seen, but I question the logic in giving a driving licence to someone who believes in reincarnation.

Had a Maybach “taxi“ from the airport to the hotel… saw an E1000 whilst I was there (yes it’s a thing, but not a 10ltr engine unfortunately ). Didn’t think the driving was any worse than the M62 or downtown Bradford…

Ahhhh, cab rides…..

Took a cab in Italy once, I was convinced he thought he was on the Targa Florio……
(ditto for Malta…. At times they can be ‘exuberant’)

Cabs in India - cows wandering into the road can make for abrupt manoeuvring!….. having a working horn seems more important than working lights….

Cabs in Japan are the neatest, cab drivers wear white gloves…. Lace headrest covers, it’s like being in your Nannas house!

some South American countries - you have to be careful it is a real cab!

Yeah, hailed a cab in Malta once too. Not only do they rip you off if can but you sure get a ride you will remember for a long time
