Thank you so much for all your reply's. Sorry for it sounding confusing, in future I will post before I have a beer!! I`ve opted for 255/35/19 to go on the rear, the width will be ok and as I already run on 35 profile surely there should not be any difference. I havent taken the front wheels off as the tyres are good so I can`t confirm the `J` of them. I have just renewed rear brake pads and inner shoes yesterday and the ABS light did come on but went off again once I started driving.

Cheers again.

235/35 is a different diameter & rolling circumference than 255/35, as rage 35 denotes the % of the width of the tyre.

Per my post you cannot use 255/35.
255/30 is the correct size to use.

Mickey, are you reading the replies?
255x35x19 will give you issues with ABS ESP.

Change your order to 30 profile.

Hi Guys. I had my rear tyres fitted at Formula1 autocentre on Wednesday. I discussed with them any issues I might have fitting my original order, they assured me they have fitted these before and also assured me they would be ok. The outcome is, I`ve done 80 miles running on 255/35/19`s and everything is working fine. I don`t doubt the info I have received from you all and I thank you for your input, but my choice of tyres are working fine and looking good too!

Cheers, Mickey.

Hi Guys, have to replace rear tyres this week, with the dimensions I have given can I have any advice on what I can achieve? Currently on 235/35/19 but I`m hoping to buy 255/35, anyone tried this?

Thanks, Mickey

255/35 R18 is the standard size on the rear with 225/40 R18 front

I would check the accuracy of your Speedo now that you have changed the circumference of your wheel/tyre combination. You can use a sat nav to give a good guide.

Would having oversized tyres affect the handling though. When I say that I mean all of that extra rubber in the side walls would be too flexible and you would lose a certain amount of tautness in the tyre ?

Yes it will upset handling.
If only rears are increased you change the balance of the vehicle. If fronts are increased it alters the scrub radius.

They should be a 255 or 265/30 R19 on the rear

I suspect it's right on the edge of what the car will tolerate as a speed difference between the axles.

It is in tolerance and standard fit to the C63
