Perhaps 1 careful lady owner cars aren't really that good lol.

The lady who had the 1 lady owner Clio I got the Mrs drove it for 28,000 miles and it eventually failed the MOT on all 4 tyres down to the canvas.

The rest of the car was absolutely mint, spotless, 100% apart from the 12V aux socket not working due to the wires being crushed - at the factory by the looks of it and shorting out, blowing the fuse.

She just chopped it in for a new one apparently.

Now my wife's had it a couple of years it looks and smells like a tramp has been squatting in it.

My wife called on her way home from work that there was something wrong with her car. She was about 8 miles away. I told her to pull over asap, as there are several places on her route, and call me if there was a problem she couldn't fix. Heard nothing, assume all was well.

Over an hour later she called again to say she was in town after getting shopping, not an unusual occurrence, but there was a flat tyre on her car, could I help her?

I arrived and sure enough a flat tyre, completely shredded and the wheel so hot it was welded to the hub. She had decided not to pull over as she was going shopping and would see if there was a problem after she finished shopping. :geek::rolleyes:

Don't you just love em, bless :D

and they wonder why you get annoyed with them ;):D

I have the wonderful situation where SWMBO won’t drive my car - she’s afraid I’ll give her grief if she damages it or breaks something... all because I look after it whereas for example her car’s only been washed over the last 10 years when I’ve sorted it!

Same thing happened with my wifes Scenic , drove on a flat tyre for around five miles and not only destroying an initially repairable tyre but wrecking the alloy at the same time.

When challenged on the above it was met by a, it wasn`t my fault, vacant look.

This is why I have always chosen intelligent girlfriends. One’s with a minimum of a college diploma. Then you know that they will not be the ‘dumb blonde’ type. Years ago and my son’s mother Was that type. Never ever again. She was so much hard work.

But get the dumb blonde on the back seat and you forgive anything :)

Years ago Emily borrowed her Mum's automatic Astra and is the tradition just used PARK when she parked it. Her boyfriend at the time, decided, unbeknown to her, that he would apply the handbrake for her. She set off home with handbrake applied .... she obvious either didn't see or ignored the red light staring at her .... and on;y stopped when she smelled burning brake linings!
Fortunately no lasting damage :D

at least she stopped then.some blondes wait for fire then call 999 !! mine still wont use cruise ,even after 11 yr with car.......

Not a problem in our house. Something to do with us both being petrolheads... ;)

Though it's only me who reads the manuals.

The dumb blonde really is way too much hard work. My ex partner was a nightmare. It was like having my son plus another teenager in the house. Will not go there again.

Snap Dave, my wife absolutely refuses to drive my Coupé for, I learned from my son, exactly the same reason. She knows how much I love the car and how much care and money, has been lavished on it, and, she is terrified she damages it, 'cos she knows I'd go bonkers.:mad: :D I won't even let her smoke in it, she can vape but no tobacco.:p

When she got her car I liked it a lot and told her that I'd look after it for her and she's taken me strictly at my word, she only puts fuel in it. I wash, vacuum and polish it, maintain it in all respects and it's muggins who checks the oil, water and screenwash every week or two. The last time I vacuumed it, it hadn't been done for a couple of months and from my perspective there was a snow drift of fag ash on the back seat, makes me mad as hell she does.

Because she refuses to drive my Coupé? Plus, she is a wonderful cook, baker, mother, lover and housekeeper. Not necessarily in that order I might add, lol.

Ok, the truth, she tolerates me and generally lets me away with murder (almost). :D:D

Similar, but I have really tried to persuade my other half to have a drive of my car. She's worried she might damage it. She knows how much I like my car (She driven for 29 years and never had an at fault accident).

I want her to enjoy driving it ( I know she would) Makes it easier when the next repair bill comes if if she realises why I justify the running costs.

Aww Alistair that's cruel, poor John.

In his defence, we know he'll be back, everyone's allowed a moment of madness where the heart overrules the brain, the call of a Mercedes will be too strong for him to resist. ;) :D
