Will MB do a free rust repair twice on the same panel?

I had my rear wheel arches done three or four years ago free of charge. The right rear wheel arch is bubbling up nicely again:rolleyes:

Just wondering if they will do it again for free ( car is immaculate with FMBSH) 2001 model

My experience suggest they won't. The repaired corrosion on the bottom of my doors, respraying the whole door in the process. When I noticed bubbling at the top of the dorr they said their paint thickness test showed the door had been resprayed so they wouldn't do the repair!

It is possible they may decide to do it, As far as Im aware they only give 3 yr warranty on rust repairs..but you really need to go back and check with them

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
We have had a few that have had the work re done,,though all of these rust and other faults seem to be drawn from a lottery as to whether they will fix it

Good news, they will do it for a 10% charge..............£35.:D

I will also get my new AMG rear bumper fitted by them also, as they have to remove the old one anyway. :D

10% charge of £35..... hmmm it would be better for them to do it completely FOC and then i suspect people would be more happy with the result...... it sounds a bit petty of them to charge you £35 for it.

Yes I know, probably pays the admin fees or something trivial

I am just about to order a rear AMG bumper. Do you think I should go for the one with no exhaust cut outs A220 885 0525 or the one B66036051 with 2 cut outs for single pipes ? ( tail pipes would have to be custom made to look right)

My car in photo at bottom

personally id go for no exhaust cuts. looks great, but doesnt shout too loudly about it! also saves having to have the pipes custom made!

According to Inchcape Oxford

A2208850525 is for diesel models, no cut outs

B66036052 is for 12 cylinder models from model year 2003 ( 4 pipes )

B66036051 is for 6 & 8 cylinder models from model year 2003 ( 2 pipes )

Surely there must be an option for 2001 petrol models??

My rust also came back on drivers rear wheel arch and some new rust on the roof, went back to merc and got an offer of 20% off leaving me to pay £680. Me car is one year older than yours and has not been to Mercedes for a service service for the past two years. I think if it has full merc history they may have paid up.

Interesting this, the "8 year rule" would appear to be a figment of some peoples imagination.
Lets hope they repair it properly and treat the other problem area's with some rust proofing materials.
