i have mec 311 cdi 2.2 will only start on a hill as soon as you let clutch out it fires up no problems tried turning over and over but will only start on a hill help

possibly the seals on the pressure regulator at the rear end of the fuel rail. you can easily unbolt it to check the seals, if they are split then change them, new ones are cheap enough. otherwise it could be injector leakoff.
