Hi Guys,

I am new to this...so please be gentle with me.

My predicament is this, I have a 1998 C250 TD Sport, I like the old girl and have just spent a fortune having all the problem body work I've accumulated over the last six and a half years of ownership fixed. My drivers seat is shot to pieces and went to my breakers yard to buy another one. They will only sell me a complete interior and it doesn't match what ive got in there at the moment. My question is this, can i remove the wood trim from the new door cards and replace it with the carbonfibre trim on the origionals so it matches my centre console?

Many Thanks in advance

Sol

I think you have to remove the door card. Trim is held from the back

Hi Sol, you need to remove the door panels and the carbon trim is held on by small clips onto the back of the panel.
To remove the trim panels prize out the bung under the handgrip on the door panel and remove the screw. Prize off the bezel surrounding the interior door handle. If it is the airbag model prize off the SRS badge on the trim and remove the screw that is behind. Then carefully prize off the door panel using a broad flat tool. finally lift the door panel from the top of the door where it meets the glass.
I hope this is a bit helpful. If you are a bit handy I'm sure you will suss it out!!
Cheers John.;)

The trims have clips that are best removed with a pair of pliers using a twisting action

The 4th picture HERE will give you further insight into how it is held on, the only difference is cosmetic.

Hi,
Be careful not to turn your ignition on with the airbag disconnected as this bring up a fault that has to be cleared by code reader or computer via the diagnostic socket.

Hi Guys,

Just to update, went to the breakers and found out an old friend of mine was working there. So I got a good deal on some good condition seats, the interior matches the door cards so i'm not going to bother to change them. just going to give it a good Valet. I also manged to get a replacement console lid new gear/gaiter piece and kick plates. So I think that will address all the inerior issues. Thanks for all your help guys, especially you... young Malcom..;)
