I recently bought a 2000 CLK 320 Avante Garde.

The wheels it has are (I think) standard 16". They are in a bad way and not big enough in my eyes. I would like to replace them. I have seen some on ebay.

They are 17" AMG wheels with the following spec:

Tyre Type: All-Weather Rim Width: 7.5J
Tyre Width: 225 Rim Diameter: 17 inches
Aspect Ratio: 45 Offset: 35
Load Index: 91 Number of Studs: 5
Speed Rating: W: max 168 mph Stud Diameter: --
Tyre Manufacturer: -- Rim Manufacturer: Mercedes-Benz
Rim Structure: One Piece Manufacturer Part Number: 2024000302

My question is will they fit and will they be safe?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,
Though these 17" AMG wheels will fit, the correct set of AMG's for your car should have 7.5J on the front and 8.5J on the rear, staggered set up.

This is not important and the first wheel in the chart is not a staggered set

As Malc said above, they should fit but staggered look will look nicer on your car with wider wheels at back
