Hello and welcome,, it should be just plug and play, the price of these things is not bad when you think of the small numbers manufactured

203 window control module,2005 model

hi
as promised an update on the control module, as explained on previous post, i was thinking of replacing the control box myself as i had already identified the faulty part and thanks to advise from ,television it didn't need coding in, the cost of the part would be £117+vat from mercedes parts dept.
however as the car was only two months out of warranty i approached MBuk for a goodwill payment towards the cost if i had the repair done at a mercedes dealer. i was told they would only consider this if i took the car to the dealer for diagnostics and wear and tear assessment ie milage (29000) service history,(up to date) and general condition,(not been abused)wife's car local shopping and keep fit is the only use, she never used pass/side window, mercedes charged £85, then sent the report to MBuk who refused a goodwill gesture stating (to agree would amount to a lifetime guarantee) so i had the car repaired at the dealer at a total cost of £230. because i was required to have the £85 diagnostics done before MBuk would consider my claim, and the cost of the part to me would be £117+vat the eventual saving of me doing the job was marginal.

Door control modules do sometimes need coding. We have fitted auto folding mirrors for people and simply coded the controller to support it. Other times though the controller has needed to be replaced.
