Window Problems

I have 86 Mrecedes 420SEL. I am having trouble with the front windows. Some times they work and stop and some time they don't work at all. I have the switches replaced but that did not fix the problem. Could some one please let me know if they had a similar issue. I also would like to know how to take the door paneling off without breaking it.
