When I try to close the drivers window when it is raining the window closes about 70 % then stops and drops down about 30 mm.

I then have to hold the window button in the up position to get the window to close. This only seems to occur when it is raining.

Is it a problem with the sensor or is it a fault which needs to be looked at by the factory.

I am assuming you have a CLK if so this is a common problem usually caused by a software error.

the window is seeing an obstruction when it comes to halt and therefore back off for safty reasons

Visit dealer and intruct him to check door control module Hall sensors if when the window is closed these read over 12 this is the problem.

the dealer can sort this in software and should not cherge for doing so
