Hello to everyone,

Has anyone replaced a (exterior) window sealing rail on a w123 before? I've got a new one for the driver's door on my 300D, but am not sure how simple it will be to change.
Can I simply pull the old one out and put the new one in? Or do I need to take the door apart and drop the glass out of the way?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure mine fell out when I had the window out. That was a 124 though.

I might have a go at replacing mine, they seem to be turning green.

I used to have some thin strips of metal going to a U at the end, that I could slide down between the glass and the door and pull the fixing clips up to the edge of the door.

I think I used the things that I bought to take out the instrument pod.

Is that what you call economical or genius, I will settle on the later

Use a wooden spatchula and prize it upwards. I'm sure that it must be possible to replace the rubber part alone if you can get the right section from a specialist supplier. It can only be crimped in position or stapled.
