Windscreen chip repair? Use Glass Doctors!

I needed to have a small chip in the windscreen repaired and also had a previous poorly carried out repair done by my insurers nominated windscreen repairer National Windscreens done back in March that needed sorting out. The chip was rough, still visible and not see through.

After spending time searching I came across a company called Glass Doctors who were recommended on a few car forums.

http://www.glassdoctors.co.uk

Pictures attached. 1st picture of the poor repair National had done and the 2nd of Glass Doctors repair and how it should have been done in the first place.

The difference is amazing. The chip is alot less noticeable now and would probably be barely visible if I had it repaired by them in the first instance.

I would highly recommend them if they cover your area. David is a friendly bloke and explained exactly what he was doing. Quality of the work is top and the prices are good. They either bill your insurer direct or you will get a receipt and a form to claim the cost back from your insurer (assuming you have a fully comp policy with glass cover).

Just followed your advice and had Daren from Glass Doctors repair the screen on my E350 Coupe. Super job.

I was sceptical after having the wife's Mini screen repaired by AutoGlass a 4'ish years ago, as it made zero improvement.

So not only did Glass Doctors fix my Merc but also did the job AutoGlass should have done. Were AutoGlass' methods ever going to work or just holding out for the replacement? Obviously it was possible to make the crack invisable they just couldn't.

Now that old crack is almost perfect, and my pride and joy is too.

Insureance wasn't a problem, Admiral, my insurer had no problem and were happy to pick up the first £50.

Thank you npuk for putting me on to these guys.

I paid Glass Doctors and reclaimed the full cost from Admiral, so try the same if it is not too late.
