I've a 2012 merc sprinter & there's no water coming out of the window washers (there is water in the tank) I've pulled the pipe of the nozzle attached to the wiper arm but nothing is coming out , how do I rule out a blockage or a problem with the pump? Regards ian

Can you hear the pump working?
Back flush if you can and/or hosepipe in the tank to clear any gunk.
A lot of mixtures can react with each other and grow algae and coagulate.

yes clean the tank as a first.
My Brother in lawis not car minded at all. He asked me a year back to look into his wiper fluid not working.
He had clearly been using washing up liquid.
Stuck a hose in and what came out looked like tissue thats been sat in water and chunks of it.
Cleaned it all and lines and it was good as new.
No doubt its back on the washing liquid now.

Failing that if the pump makes a noise and nothing then its the pump. easy to change.

Do you have a compressor and the adapter for blowing air, so you can push it into the end of the pipe you've disconnected and blow the line through back to the pump? Or stick the end in your mouth and blow hard!! Next would be to access the reservoir as there's a filter between the pump and the outlet that has been known to block. Next, as advised, is to empty and flush the reservoir in case mixing screen washes has caused gunk, another well known problem. Good luck!
