windscreen wiper again

Having followed some very helpful advice on my stuttering wiper mechanism ie I've removed the covers cleaned out the mechanism in situ using wd40 as there was some white powder corrosion present.I then used some spray grease to lubricate and went out to test it with no noticable improvement.I removed the covers again cleaned away the grease and applied some lubricating oil.I feel that the problem has improved but it may be wishful thinking. Am I being impatient or have I missed something ?

As lubricating has failed to solve the fault you now have one of two problems. Either a nut is lose on the rear of the mechanism or you have striped teeth on a nylon gear inside the motor, it’s 50/50 as to which one is the problem.

Thank you, I will get onto it at the weekend and hopefully get an inexpensive result
