Hi All,

The windscreen arm keeps disconnecting on my car and I’m having to open the boot and click it back into place?

Will this need replacing or is it just missing a screw or something? From visually just looking at it, it doesn’t look like anything is missing

I’ve added a pic of where it disconnects

Thank you

Probably missing an E-clip.
If the pin has a groove in it that's where the clip fits.

Probably would do the job (if there's a groove).

Is it a one-wiper front screen or the rear wiper.

Looks like it’s had it to me... rusty joint, possibly seized at some point then been” un seized “ by someone less delicate..
two heavy duty ty- wraps may hold the ball and socket together and allow movement, until you can replace it.

Look on the various IPL sites such as 7zap to see if somethings missing (ie clip) which you could then order from MB. No point in ordering a pack of 10.

The pack I linked to was £6 odd .... ;) OP could have used one & put the remaining 9 away for future use! :D:D

If a C Class's wiper linkage/motor is anything like Smart, MB will only sell it all as a single unit ££££££££s

The link I bought didn’t fit so I’ve bought the linkage arm for £60 off a breaker. They included the motor aswell.

When it gets fitted, is it worthwhile to get the motor replaced at the same time as it has come with the linkage?

Or will it need programming if I do?

When do you expect to get it? If I am not too late, If I were you, I would leave the newly bought one as it is until you have tested that it works.
I doubt it if it will need any coding, it is only an electric motor.

Just as an experiment, use some cable ties on the old one while it is still on the car, and see how long the cable ties last.

I have already got the part. Taking it to a garage tomorrow to fit.

One of the mechanics said something like it’s easier for them to fit the whole arm with the motor already connected?
