wiring help installing electric windows into a Vito

I recently got hold of a complete package for MB electric windows and mirrors, (second hand, used) i've got all the wiring with it too, i know how to install the motors, windows, mirrors etc, so i'm just after a bit of info regarding the wiring, it's a long long time since i last did anything like this, the last time was when i put electric windows into my Mk5 Cortina back in the early '80s, i remember back then i had a relay in the wiring loom, i dont have one with this kit, where/how do i wire this into the existing wiring in the van? or would it be easier just to take the power directly from the battery? i would have prefered to make it part of the existing wiring, so i can control it with the ignition etc, any advice from any auto-electricians would be most useful
