Hi...

I have a 2000 C class 200k sport & have been looking for a workshop manual.

I dont seem to be able to find one for a Kompressor model..Haynes only seem to do one for the 200.

Would this be the same?

Would i be better off buying a CD as on Ebay..as i think Haynes are a bit pants..

Oh & whats the best/ cheapest place to buy the specialist tools for Mercs?
I.e dashboard clocks removal tool?

Thanks..

Alan.

As for the removal tool, quite a few forum members don't use them and push the clocks out from behind. The reasoning is that the tools can crack the clear plastic front.

That's right Haynes(wisely) do not cover the Kompressor & I wouldn't fancy using their guidance to do any home maintenence on this model as it is prone to throwing out fault codes for fun.Depends on your level of expertise I guess but no experience of the WIS stuff off e-bay. Speaking from experience I think any DIY on these is false economy, you'll need expert attention at some stage!!Find a tusty indie. Haynes o.k. though for routine "how to" on body fittings/panels /filters etc. Search on here for removal tools some people make them from coat hangers!

Thanks for the reply lads...

I am a qualified mechanic, but haven't been working on these sorts of motors before.

Is there anywhere i can find out what the fault codes mean then?

I need to know how much oil this thing holds & reccomendation on oil..

And how much would i be looking at to take it to Merc for a service?

Thanks...

I bought a manual on CD off ebay & its just an autodata Cd..
Tells of certain things but isnt that in depth..good for torque settings etc..
