It's a funny old world, the price of oil is falling falling, we should be happy...but we are doomed.

Anybody else worried about this, or am I alone?

Why would I be?
There are parts of industry struggling as a result of falling oil prices but overall I see it being pretty beneficial to the economy as transport costs fall, goods become cheaper etc. That injects more capital into the system as individuals have more disposable income.
As a result the general public has more confidence and are willing to invest. That has to be good.

The price of Brent crude has fallen 13%...this week. These things will not be without consequence.

The biggest consequence will be the lack of investment in alternative fuels and particularly electric or hybrid cars, OPEC have openly claimed they need to make these things a false economy which bodes well for petrol heads, that will do for me tommy

as far as im concerned, the lower the fuel is priced, the better. it means i could begin to live again, rather than just exist, my money will allow me to do more, lower work costs mean reduced likelihood of redundancy, etc.

it can drop to 99p per GALLON (never mind per litre) as far as im concerned. the cheaper things are, the better!

More money to spend on everything else, the cost of fuel is just another form of taxation

Less tax therefore = happiness

Give your reasons for being unhappy, did you invest in Oil wells in Alaska or the Middle East.
The cheaper the price the better for all concerned, The only downside I can see is that tax revenues from fuel will fall sooo it will have be levied somewhere else.

Many are now forecasting another recession.

Many are now forecasting another recession.

Especially the Tory government.. They are now warning that expected growth figures may not be achievable as the fluctuations in the foreign markets, especially China, may have a big impact on how our recovery goes.. ha, as if there ever was a big improvement in our economy.

But no-one of consequence foresaw the crash of 2008, so why believe anything the tea leaf readers come up with ??!!

Not really .. when you see Mr Bean warning that we are not out of the woods yet and we still have a long way to go, shortly after the last budget when he found some money that he didn't know was there(after being defeated in the house of lords over the Tax credit cuts) then you know that things are about to go belly up again.

It doesn't matter where you heard it first if it happens...you'll still kick yourself if you could have done something (if needed of course) but didn't.

Thank your lucky stars its George Osborne running the countries finances instead of Red Jeremy's shadow chancellor. You just know what would happen
