Hi all.

Owned a number Mercedes vehicles

I’ve got a question for anyone. I’ve had my X350D power model for a while now

I recently upgraded the alloys to an official Xclass 350D power genuine Mercedes alloy (attached). I keep getting tyre pressure sensor inoperative. While I know this not a serious issue or a problem with tyres, the sensors were not linked when the allots were changed or taken off the old alloys I know. But even main dealership Mercedes Dartford London couldn’t resolve they just reset the sensors and within 20 mins of driving the warning light came on. Is this just a matter of new pressure sensors online? Can anyone advise?

thanks in advance

Oscar

Nope, they refused as I chose to upgrade my alloys, it’s a decorative item “their wording”. I should of took the sensor off the old alloys, my mistake. Nevertheless I’ll happily pay to resolve if some one knows the answer

Oscar just realised there was no attachment! How do they normally work on the X class then?

So, you changed the alloys and also tyres?? Or did you get the tyres swapped over? Where was this done?
In all honesty I don't know whether the X has direct or indirect TPMS...you will know if your display shows an actual tyre pressure (normally)

I had a very quick read through the review .... why do people have such a problem with Merc's auto column shift? Plenty of cars over the years have had column shifts ... just mechanical rather than electric

I'm wondering whether the place who did the alloys even swapped the sensors over to the new wheels if it's direct which I think it is reading the original post again), hence inop., rather than 'finding' them.
Anyway you could try the procedure on this link yourself...

Hi,

correct change the tyres and alloys as one. Myself, not knowing we had to swap the pressure sensors over etc.

and no it won’t display any Tyre pressure at all just comes up with this warning.

the old alloys and tyres are long gone.

Hi thanks for this. I’ll reach out to someone who can change the sensors. I’ve assumed it was straight forward and even contacted main dealer to ask for new ones and they couldn’t direct me! They just reset the sensors and within literally 20 mins of driving they came back on!

looks like you're going to need 4 new pressure sensors fitting then ...

just asking ..... how did you think your car told you the pressure in each tyre?

Yeah I’d of assumed this and asked merc and they generally couldn’t advise me. This was Mercedes Benz Dartford were they retail and service cars and I said this a Commerical vehicle. It’s now going to Mercedes Benz asphalt commercial and hopefully they’ll know the crack.

well by the sensors that were originally in there ha. Since the new alloys never been able to display the pressure just has this message on dash.

thanks

I'd have thought that a dealer, commercial or or retail would have been able to tell you whether your car had direct or indirect TPMS ... but obviously not

I believe that OE tyre pressure sensors are expensive but have no idea if pattern/copy sensors are available
