Would circuit 87 being in constant open circuit cause the engine to start then shut down after a few seconds?

circuit 87 open usually prevents starting (have you problem with 87? - Check relays and corrosion in bottom of SAM) but not heard it would cut down engine... on other hand if SAM is falty it can do anything...
then I remember one W211 with 87 circuit error, culprit was broken wires where harness goes to engine bay (through fire plate)
