hello to you all ive got a xenon bulb gone,i believe the standard bulb is 4300k i can get some 6000k.will these be ok or should i stick to original, its a pair so will be the same on both sides cheers
4300k will give the most light output. 6000k will have a blue hue to it.
A 4100k will have about 20% more lumens output than a 6000k.
the sun is around 5500k.
Your choice- looks or functionality.
The K figure is something to do with the thermal temperature equivalent of the light given off. The higher the figure the bluer it becomes. Alas our eyes aren't so good at detecting the blue light and so as you move up the K scale the dimmer the lights appear. I certainly wouldn't go beyond 6000K.
I had some dogdy Xenon blue bulbs and couldn't get used to them, it was akin to watching a black and white TV (which is really blue and white - ever noticed?) Best go with the 4300
the prices i found were between £29 and£80 each but found a pair for £25+£3 postage on e bay from hids direct.i know thats a huge difference in price as for the quality i will let you know
yes they are easy to fit but make sure you have not got the lights switched on,there are slots in the base which line up in the head light,on mine the wiring pops out of the black box (ignitor) as you turn it,so is safer.look at DIYsection how to fix a xenon light there is a very good description and photos on how to change a bulb.cheers
I got a pair of General Electric ones brand new from a guy from Ebay that sells these for £29 for the pair !!!
There is also a guy on Ebay that does the Philips ones (which are usually OEM) for about £30 each.....thats half price of what they usually are if you bought them from a retailer.
