Hi Mercedes enthusiasts and pros, I have a passenger Xenon Deep-light flickering, on driver side only, the left side is OK.

So far steps:
1. Installed NEW xenon light - still flickering.
2. Ordered D2S D2R XENON STARTER IGNITER - waiting for a post.
3. D2S/D2R Ballast Unit - Could it be the one causing flickering? If the Ballast is one in the car and the left side is OK would it be Ballast unit?
I have recorded a Video with the symptoms: Xenon Deep Light flickering:

Is anyone have an idea as to where the Ballast Unit located in the car?
Thanks a LOT !

As I can see, no one has anything to suggest. Here is the update. Steps I have followed to solve the deep light. 1. Xenon bulb was replaced, Ig2. Igniter replaced, 3. D2S/D2R Ballast Unit was replaced -which turned up to be causing the flickering issue. All sorted now.

Glad you're sorted with fairly minimal damage to your wallet :)
Hi, Thanks. I really dedicate myself to any issue we have with our Mercedes cars. If anything else I come across that is helpful I surely will upload the information (I guess per a specific thread). Here in the UK Mercedes charges around £108 per hour for anything they do + parts. I personally think this is a rip off in addition to Road Tax and other gov games etc.

Where was the D2R ballast located? On my 211 it was underneath the headlamp.

Yes, that is correct. Removing a wheel, removing a plastic fender that covers the light section and there it is under the headlight unit, wide open, easy to unscrew. I have attached a picture of the old one to this reply. The parts for replacement I used are in the next 2 pictures. I managed to clip the Igniter without disassembling the bumper. Just put some grease or lubrication on 4 pins of the igniter and carefully keep twisting till eventually it clips into place. Another point to make (could be Mercedes Trick) is to position Xenon bulb EXACTLY as it was when it was previously in the igniter, otherwise it may not clip in place.
