Hi,
Though I can,t tell you where it is but I can tell you its not under the the rear seat squab, so yes SAM i think you are talking 203.
Thinking about the function of the YAW rate sensor, I would think it would be where you mentioned, somewhere around the gear shift as I would think it would need to be on the centre line of the vehicle.
As the rear seat seems to of been mentioned by others you could try under the plastic cover immediatly behind the rear seat, access to which can be gainned from inside the boot.

I thought I would post and say that it was,nt under the seat squab as I have removred this on mine a few times and knew there is nothing electrical under there, but if i recall correctly there are several control units, behind the rear seat in the vicinity of the battery, i,ll be installing the headlight levelling loom soon so i,ll be trying to identify many more items namely in the passenger side footwell area.

Hello everyone. First time posting here but just wanted to say this is a great forum and can save everyone a TON of money.

So here is my situation. I have a malfunctioning Yaw Rate Sensor that is randomly engaging my brakes while driving. I pulled the codes and everything is pointing toward the sensor. The rub here is that the sensor is $800. I was told by a tech that if i remove the sensor the system will simply disengage and I wont have TCS or ESP/BAS. The ABS will be left in tact.

I noticed that someone posted that the location of the Yaw Rate Sensor is under the passenger seat (front). I just wanted to confirm, has anyone ever replaced this part DIY?

Thanks again everyone!

the sensor is mounted in the boot (errr, trunk?). forward of the spare wheel well you will see a large plastic cover - the full width of the boot space. remove this cover to expose the yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensors.

i think that one is the latt accel sensor. the yaw rate is to the left, small size, in plated metal clamp.
