Yellow trianle in console lit up - what does it mean?

While driving to work yesterday the yellow warning triange lit up about 2 miles into the journey. I pulled over about 5 miles later to turn off the engine then back on again and the light was Ok (or it went out as expected). It's not happened since.

Gremlins or was it trying to tell me something?

The car was running fine with nothing obvious not running.

It's telling you that the ESP is off. Either you inadvertantly switched it off, or else it has a fault. Faults normally come with other warning lights though so I suspect you knocked the switch.
