Evening all.
I've had the yellow peril (wife's words) for two week and loving every minute I've had behind the wheel.
It's an '02 SLK 32 AMG, yellow (yes, I know, not everyone's choice, but I love it, so different from black/silver that seems to be everywhere. Apparently only four yellow 32's ever imported). It's certainly geting me noticed, too, only it seems to be just men looking at me...erk. Perhaps it's the noise from those exhausts, or the shiny paintwork.
I've treated it to a professional valet, reasoning that it's easier to keep it looking good if you start from a good base, so it's gleaming outside, and really smart inside.
And it goes like stink. I have surprised myself a couple of times on the motorway...gentle pressure on the throttle to overtake and, whoops, that's well over the ton. Better watch out, cos if the the boys in blue are playing speeding snooker, a yellow car is the second ball.
Anyhow, want to say thanks to Thomas (?) for fixing my ability to post here (IT problems with the work email anti-spam). Ad thanks to all the posts that I have read from all the committed owners on here, all very useful, even the rants on fuel pricing.
Finally, I read with some trepidation about the rusty cross-members on the E series cars (sorry, not up with the MB model numbering system). Any news of that happening to R170's? And any known issues with 170's particulalry the AMGs?
