Hi all,
Just been up to Derbyshire to see a good friend of mine, Tom Hartley about getting a new RS6 for a couple of months. When I got there, there was an absolutely gorgeous new model S63 AMG Limo (they do make them but only in very limited quantities).
Tom has just had it imported in from Stuttgart (RHD UK spec) with every possible extra available e.g. rear fax, front/rear telephone, designo maple wood, new 6.5" widescreen DVD COMAND with TV tuner, 2 rear widescreen plasma monitors in the rear head restraints, 2X PS2's (and 2 moderately specified laptop motherboards-viewed through the screen with internet access provided by a dedicated communications link- for security and business/leisure use), 4 zone air conditioning, specially commissioned fine grain, soft Mustique ruffled leather, rear bar and drinks refrigerator (all with chrome and wood embellishments), dynamic contour system 4X, 4 zone air conditioning. Oh yes, and there's the AMG emblem embossed into the ruffled leather - marvellous!
Apparently the car was specially commissioned for the UN's top flight politicians and diplomats thus the need for top flight MBGUARD protection (bullet proof glass/panels, completely compartmentalised and secure fuel tank (3 tanks with driver or passenger ability to change from front or rear), silent alarm featuring satellite communication with local/national authorities, bazooka resistance, exclusive 3 layer side and front impact protection etc...)
Because of the specialised nature and structure/interior materials, design etc. of the car it was built in the same factory where the Maybachs are being made with overlooked instruction by MBGUARD.
Unfortunately, the UN decided that the 63 was not best suited to a diplomat's transport arrangement. They went for a Maybach 57 and a few 745's (why?!!).
So that leads back to Tom. He has the car in stock in a lovely (and probably never to be replicated bullet silver colour) - ready to go with 100 delivery miles on the clock - still unregistered. And the best bit? I don't need a chauffer as the car delivers an amazing 675BHP from the supercharged V12 powertrain.
How much you ask? Well, I could never be so vulgar as to disclose this sum. Lets just say I won't be getting much change from the £200k I have just paid in. And before you say it, the Maybach is already excessively tasteless and common to even consider. After all this is a one off that will only appreciate in value, yet people won't think I am some kind of ostentatious, cliché self-made man nor the next David Beckham or 'Posh' Spice (I shudder when writing the names!!!)
Oh, and I am sure it won't go down to badly at my drinks reception at the Landmark in a few weeks!
