Mate offered to fit alloygators to these wheels as rims are so exposed I was going grey but as calipers are green he’s trying to talk me into fitting green ones.
What your thoughts. Not on gators but on the colour grey or green.

To me that almost looks like the tyres are slightly too small for the alloy?
Re gators, oh god no, they look even worse when curbed than and alloy and really once you curb them you will have curbed the alloy too, just maybe not quite as badly

Most premium tyres have a built in rim that extends over the wheel to give some protection.
I agree with @V6Matty that the tyres look on the skinny side for the wheel.
I tried Gators on my 129 but took them off after a week. I had silver ones but never got them to fit as snugly as I'd have liked.

If you've got your mind set on them go for grey in my opinion.

Fitted them once, more trouble than they are worth and I had them removed after a couple of months.
Your tyre fitter won't thank you either for fitting them.

We used to sell them for those who really wanted them and quite easy when you have the tools to hand. As mentioned some tyres, usually come with and without rim protectors. I always go for rim protection on the tyre but it’s not fool proof and pretty much anyone who kerbs a wheel will still kerb it.

Only way to protect your wheels is not kerb them! I know some folks don’t care about bumping stuff but, I’ve never kerbed a wheel so can only say one needs to be highly mindful not to do so.

As mentioned, if you do want them, go for the colour closest to the wheel as anything else will make it look like a clown car.

They are a free with free fitting , so not too bothered about anything only the look , I had them on a 2014 cls for ever , they were black though and saved me a fortune as had daugher use it now and again and she was prone to rubbing the occasional kerb , I can’t change tyres until those are worn out a bit , it would be a waist. The ones on cls were £90 and there were hard as concrete sat tight to the rim almost invisible in black definitely saved me a lot more than £90 , they got a odd rub down and re coated black about 20 times lol

Yes always prefer tyres with protection not that they aways help
But these tyres were fitted and too good to throw away ,have friend works in tyres he offered these free and said in the workshop they be fitted in an hr I wanted grey but he’s a bit of a pest wants to stick green to match calipers although he said if I don’t like green after couple of weeks he would pull them off and put grey on.

Hmmmm! I'm afraid I don't agree on the green. Too garish for my liking.

Me either, he’s putting me in difficult position as don’t want to seem thankless , might just insist on grey.

If alloygators get damaged, they can start to unpeel off the rim.
I’ve seen horrendous damage done to surrounding bodywork by one of them flailing around.
(As you know they will only let go at speed, and by the time you stop, it’ll be waaaaaay too late )

I'd just leave the wheels and try to be careful, in all my years of driving I have only ever kerbed 2 wheels, and each time the damage I did was hardly noticeable.

I think green will look awful, but that is down to personal taste; I cannot see grey looking very nice either. I think those wheels look great just how they are.

Kinda agree and thought of that but ( no offence) sick of red calipers and too much silver on wheels to do silver so option is black hate black , there’s been quite a few have commented on liking the wheels and liked the green , don’t think the photos are showing them right will put better photo up tomorrow. Just so it’s easier to judge. Have put fitting alloygators on hold for now , never thought I would ever say this but wish my tyres needed changing
and had a bigger bank balance lol
Respect for your opinions . But have we look at next photo when I put it up showing wheel proper.
No harm if don’t like it we all have different preferences.
